BIO:
"Somebody
had to say it." Is what comes to mind when watching Drew Hastings perform.
His opinionated style of standup comedy has made him a favorite in venues
all over the country. He’s appeared on many standup TV shows ranging from
Late Friday to The Tonight Show.
Raised in Ohio by an English mother, Drew brings to every performance,
a Midwestern openness tempered with British aloofness and condescension.
This combination has proved quite appealing since his arrival in Los Angeles,
where he recently shot pilots for both NBC (“The Peter Principle,”) and
HBO (“The Near Future”).
As a writer, Drew’s done several one man shows. Best known, "The Business
of Living", is a dysfunctional satire of the success/motivational industry.
His character from that show, Jack Freeman, has received radio airplay nationwide
and has made several tv appearances, including The Martin Short Show. As
of this writing, Drew is finishing a book of short stories and a new one
man show due to be staged in Fall 2002.
