BIO:
Doug
Benson's quirky inventiveness and unique style have led him to a successful
and eclectic career as a stand-up comic, actor and writer. Throughout the
90's he appeared on virtually every stand-up show on cable television.
He has contributed off-beat sketch acting on HBO's irreverent Mr. Show with Bob and David and Comedy Central's The T.V. Wheel.
Doug is both the writer and loudspeaker voice for the WB Network's long-running
T.V. and radio campaign. He was well-reviewed for his performance as Andy
Warhol in the musical play, Waiting for Studio 54 which has had various L.A. runs at Luna Park, Hudson Theatre, and The HBO Workspace. Doug also co-created the sitcom Susan Says Cheese
as a starring vehicle for his friend Sarah Silverman. The show is currently
set up at Columbia/Tri-Star with Doug as a producer and Larry Charles (Seinfeld, Mad About You) executive producing.
Not one to be outdone when it comes to diversity, he has recently guested on NBC's Friends, debuted at the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, paneled on VH1's surprise hit The List, and made a very successful stand-up appearance on CBS's The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn
